Prospective Members

ELIGIBILITY

The Cockburn 4WDC Club offers 3 levels of Membership. 

Option 1 is suitable for those wanting to join a four-wheel drive club.

Option 2 is for those wanting to join a four-drive club and take advantage of the Department of Transport (DOT) Concessions for Classics Scheme (C4C) reduced registration rates for eligible vehicles.

Option 3 is suitable for those that need to join a car club and want to gain access to the DOT C4C programme and not undertake Off Road trips that are longer than 5 nights away in remote off-road locations. 

 

From the three (3) options to choose from, you must complete the following process:

90 Day Free Visitor Membership

  1. Own or have access to a currently registered vehicle with a valid and correct driver's vehicle class for the vehicle being driven and registered with a road authority in Australia, a mechanically sound and capable 4WD vehicle.
  2. Provide name, email address, mobile phone number, street address, vehicle make and model, next of kin details and other details as required on the 90 Day Free Visitor Membership form except for those wanting Option 3.
  3. Attend either two Day Trips or two Weekend Trips or a Day Trip and a Weekend Trip in the 90 Day Free Visitor Membership period except for those wanting Option 3.

 

Option 1 

Cockburn 4WDC Membership: $70/year

  1. Complete the requirements of the 90 Day Free Visitor Membership.
  2. Pay the Membership Invoice of $70 that will be emailed to you after completion of the 90 day free period.  Please allow up to four weeks for processing time.
  3. New members need to complete the free trial membership, inclusive of a day trip and a weekend trip or a combination of both prior to joining an extended trip.
  4. If renewing membership, simply pay the annual Club fee of $70 as per due date.

 

Option 2 

Cockburn 4WDC Membership + Department of Transport (C4C) Scheme: $105/year

  1. Complete the requirements of the 90 Day Free Visitor Membership.

  2. Pay the Membership Invoice of $105 that will be emailed to you after completion of the 90 day free period.  Please allow up to four weeks for processing time.

  3. New members need to complete the free trial membership, inclusive of a day trip and a weekend trip or a combination of both, prior to joining an extended trip and to participate in the Department of Transport (C4C) registration scheme.

  4. If renewing membership, simply pay the annual Club fee of $105 as per due date.

Option 3

Department of Transport (C4C) - scheme only Membership: $70/year

  1. Own a Concessions for Classics vehicle.

  2. Pay the Membership Invoice of $70 that will be emailed to you after completion of the forms.  Please allow up to four weeks for processing time.

  3. Not undertake touring trips that are 5 or more nights away in remote off-road locations.  Suitable for those wanting to join a car club.

PROSPECTIVE MEMBER GUIDE

  1. Own or have access to a currently registered vehicle with a valid and correct driver's vehicle class for the vehicle being driven and registered with a road authority in Australia, a mechanically sound and capable 4WD vehicle.
  2. Your vehicle does not need to be highly modified although some basic equipment is required. For instance, you do not need a winch, however, you will need rated recovery points and a 5 watt UHF radio.
  3. Speak to either the President or the Secretary expressing your interest in joining the Club. You will be provided with details about the Cockburn 4WD Club to ensure that it is the most suitable club for what you are seeking.
  4. The Cockburn 4WD Club is a family orientated, touring club. The Club is environmentally conscious and respects the tracks it uses and our fellow 4WD community. We are not an ‘extreme’ 4WD Club. Our General Meetings are open to the public.
  5. Members are expected to make a reasonable effort to attend General Meetings and Trips on a regular basis, although it is appreciated that not all Members are able to attend every Meeting/Trip due to other commitments.
